Xin Rong Ji in Chengdu was promoted to three MICHELIN stars in the 2027 Chengdu selection, published online on 3 September 2026. It is the city’s first three-star restaurant, making Chengdu the third mainland Chinese city with one, after Beijing and Shanghai. Zinan and Focus by Bill Yue won their first star, and no restaurant lost one.

What a meal at Xin Rong Ji costs

The Chengdu branch of Xin Rong Ji serves the cooking of Taizhou in Zhejiang and has been in Sichuan for about three years; its Beijing branch already holds three stars. A typical meal costs CN¥846 (about $125) a head, an average spend rather than a set menu.

The first, Zinan, cooks refined traditional Sichuan food, at about CN¥329 (about $50) a head. The second, Focus by Bill Yue, cooks Japanese-French food at about CN¥798 (about $120), and its sommelier Sam Liu won the Sommelier Award.
